Department Overview

We are looking to extend the team with a Paris based contingent to satisfy ECB requirements and require a talented, senior development team lead to build the team and support the ongoing development of the Cortex platform.

We will continue enhancing the platform with feature improvements and additions as per business requirements. The Paris team will participate with the dev lead being responsible for much of the recruitment, training and mentoring of the development team. However the expectation is that this will be mainly hands on development role for the individual.

Key Responsibilities

Development lead responsible for the Paris team for delivery of the Cortex Platform across all Products.
Collaborate with the London and Mumbai teams on planning and prioritisation for the platform developments
Establish a collaborative working relationship with senior stakeholders:
- fully understand the business needs
- ensure that corresponding IT needs are properly documented to allow for estimation and planning
- ensure that a corresponding IT strategy is developed and implemented
Participate in an agile based software development life-cycle including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing and code reviews.
Collaborate with the production support team for release and maintenance of the components.
Work closely with the other senior developers in determining and following best development and architecture practice.
Provide technical guidance and leadership for more junior members of the team.
Propose and provide feedback from experience/knowledge on architecture, design, technology choices and technology direction of the platform.
Fully participate in requirement and design meetings for new functionality.
Provide 3rd line application support on a rotation basis within the broader team.

Skills and Experience
Strong software development experience in an enterprise environment
Strong development skills and experience with Javascript
Strong development skills and experience with Typescipt , CSS.
Strong development skills and experience with the common javascript libraries and other web technologies
Exeprience with server side development in either of Java/.Net languages
Experience with reactive extensions.
Experience with real time trading systems.
Excellent knowledge of programming best practices, design patterns etc.
Strong interest in continuous improvement and all aspects of software development and delivery
Agile practitioner using Scrum.
Good understanding of test driven development and continuous integration practices
Good understanding of relational databases with appropriate SQL knowledge
Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, inside and outside the team.
Desire to learn quickly and ability to adapt to a fast changing environment.
Strong problem solving skills.
Comfortable dealing with numbers.
Solid academic background in engineering, sciences or economics.
Desirable Requirements
Financial product knowledge in any of FX, FX Options, Credit and Rates products.
Experience developing large real-time financial trading applications.
Experience with common .Net patterns and libraries (i.e. MVVM, Rx, NUnit)
Experience with real time messaging protocols.
HTML5/Single page app development.
Good understanding of Javascript and its associated frameworks and productivity tools.
An ability to design performant software and an understanding of application performance profiling.
